River: End of filming

On this day, we filmed the end of River as well as re-filming a few shots that were affected by the weather. A few of the shots after the title sequence were greatly affected by hailstones, as the lens got steamed up and it was difficult for the actors to perform to the highest of their ability. Yet as we approached the summer months, the days last longer, meaning we could re-film some of the shots after school before it got dark. These turned out to be some of the best shots in the film, as it was a clear, mild and calm day, making for detailed and professional looking shots. Although these contrasted slightly to the original shots that were in place, Aaron was able to fix this with some minor colour corrections.

Yet this good weather didn't last long, as when we started to film the final scene, the rain started. However, this was okay, as we filmed a long establishing shot of the rainy area and some thunder and rain sound effects. By doing this, we establish to the viewer that it is now raining, making it seem natural and eliminated any chance on continuity errors. Furthermore, Our main actor, Caolan, wasn't available for the last scene of the film. However, due to time constraints, we had to go on filming. Aaron put on the clothes that Caolan was wearing to play Kevin, and turned his back so it was impossible to know it was him. Despite this problem, the final shots turned out to be some of the best of the film, wrapping up the visuals in a professional-looking manner.
